Barron County Commerce: Putting the Spotlight on Local Business
By Joe Morey Free Press Editor/Publisher
From longtime family-owned businesses to new entrepreneurs opening their doors, Barron County has no shortage of business stories worth telling. The Barron County Free Press plans to bring those stories to readers each week through its new Barron County Commerce section.
The weekly business page will highlight the people, businesses and economic developments shaping communities throughout Barron County. Readers can look forward to stories about new business openings, expansions, ownership changes, commercial development projects, business anniversaries, employment opportunities and other developments affecting the local economy.
One of the section's regular features will be Business Spotlight, taking readers behind the scenes of local businesses to learn about their history, the people who built them, the challenges they've overcome and what makes them unique.
Other recurring features will include People on the Move, recognizing promotions, new hires, retirements and professional achievements, along with Barron County Business Watch, featuring shorter updates on openings, closings, relocations, expansions and upcoming developments.
The section will also keep readers informed about construction projects, proposed commercial developments, local business events and other economic activity throughout the county.
And we want your help finding these stories.
Do you know of a new business preparing to open? A longtime family business with an interesting history? A local entrepreneur with a unique story? Perhaps a business celebrating a milestone anniversary, an employee receiving a promotion or a company planning an expansion?
We want to hear about it.
The Free Press invites business owners, employees, chambers of commerce, economic development organizations and community members to submit news tips, announcements and suggestions for future stories.
Our goal is to make Barron County Commerce more than just a business page. We want it to be a weekly look at the people, investments, opportunities and developments that keep our local economy moving.
